A weekend back home for my Birthday

My weekend began on Thursday night- lucky me! I had Friday off work, so Friday morning I travelled back up North.
....................
I already had plans for Friday night, one of the neighbours was turning 4o and having a party so off I went to this. I wasn't too sure at first- the first time I was going to out to enjoy myself in a while. So I took one of my very best friends with me for moral support. Well it turned out we had a blast, a really good time. We talked and talked about all aspects of our lives past and present and even future which was so good for me and made me realise how lucky I am to have such good friends. After all the chatting I indulged in a few drinks and on Saturday had a nasty head ache LOL!! :( Once I was ready to go out on Friday night my Dad wanted to take a picture of me. My Dad said I wasn't smiling- I find it really hard to pose for pictures (even though I am a poser and love the camera), I find naturally taken pics are more truthful of me. Anyway as he said I wasn't smiling he proceeded to tell silly jokes which resulted in me howling with laughter and the above pic!!
So we tried again- this time My Dad acting like the professional photographer telling what angle to stand at! but this one looks to posed and too serious!!!

Here I couldn't resist showing you the new beauties to my collection! Of course they matched the outfit! These shoes also come in red, yellow, green, and pink................I really want to go and buy them all..........................

So on Saturday I woke up with a bit of a sore head hmmmmmmmm I shall not blame the drinks he he he he!
....................
At the service for my Mum we had a donations box for somewhere she treasured dearly. The Animal Refuge, which is situated in a nearby village. She thought a lot of this place as our dear Pixie came from here when she was just eight weeks old! The refuge takes in stray animals and cares for them. It also takes in kittens and puppies should your pet have them and you have no room for them. They are so good they fully interview people and do a home visit before allowing you to take their animals to check you are suitable to keep them. Once last year some neighbours of my parents moved away abandoning their four cats. My Mum took them in and got them taken to the Refuge. So she thought very highly of the place and it relies heavily on donations and charity work, it seemed only natural that this is where any donations people wished to make should go.
....................
So On Saturday I went off here with two of my friends to take the donations box to them. They were very grateful and so pleased. Whilst we were there we had a look round and visited the animals there. You will have to forgive some pictures as sometimes there were fences and I was trying to position my phone to take pics without the fences in! The animals are split into groups and housed really well (cleanly, well watered and fed, and well loved by the volunteers there)
....................
Lovely white kitten

The resident Ginger cat at the refuge- quite a cheeky one hehehe

The lovely pony who wandered up to the fence to see my friends and I, we spent a good 15 mins stroking it and found it hard to leave it! This pony looked so skinny from some angles, it must have been abandoned somewhere.

This is the old wise cat (as i called it)

several cheeky kittens

ponies

I fell in love with this little kitten- he was a naughty one climbing up the cage! I struggled to say goodbye to this one!
....................
One of my friends who came with me is a school teacher so at the end of this week is approaching the summer holidays. So she volunteered there to be a dog walker and a cat stroker. I told my Dad about this and he was interested in the idea too. So I had a lovely Saturday at the refuge, afterwards we drove to a local garden centre with a delightful cafe and indulged in a hot chocolate and a muffin hmmmmmm! Have a look it's a lovely place
....................
So Saturday was the day of my birthday weekend dedicated to Daisy. I enjoyed it sooo much but by Saturday night when I was back with my Dad I was tired and emotional about my birthday the following day. It being the first without Daisy I was struggling to accept my card would only be singed 'Dad' and not 'Mum and Dad'. However the story of Sunday morning soon had me laughing!!!!!
....................
So Sunday I turned 24!! Wow it sound so much older than 23! After travelling and partying on Friday and having a day for my mummy on Saturday I had a nice long sleep and lie in. I awoke and went downstairs where my Dad greeted with me my Happy Birthday wishes, then........................................... My Dad informed me he had hidden my card somewhere so I didn't find it and...............................he really couldn't remember where he hid it! SILLY DAD!!!
This took away the sadness and provided much laughter for the rest of the day. He didn't find it so wrote a notelet card from a set my mum had in a drawer. He said he would search for it and post it during the week!
....................
I had a beautiful morning with my Dad and spent some time in the garden for my mum. Then in the afternoon I headed to my Grandma's and into town to get her some shopping, then off to Carlisle Station to head back to London. I was exhausted when I got back to my flat but happy for my lovely weekend my friends and family gave me!
....................
Off to make dinner now.I've rambled longer than I thought I would hehe xx

You had quite a full weekend dear Sweetpea! I'm glad for that. You look gorgeous by the way - those are fab shoes!
The rescue facility sounds wonderful, there should be more places like this everywhere. It's so hard going to them and leaving without taking them ALL home. lol! We got our Miss Daisy Cat(not named for your mom but now it's even sweeter that is her name) from a foundation like that.
Your Dad sounds like he has quite a sense of humor. You should have turned the camera on HIM!
When you talk to him please send him warm thoughts from the US!
XOXO

you are going to get along famously with my two daughters - both shoe lovers! These shoes are gorgeous! I can relate to the headache, as you know. It seems that we both needed to 'over indulge' so that we could laugh and have fun...
ooh look at those sweet little kittens.. I love the little black one - I would have had a hard time leaving that and the little white one. Is your dad going to get himself one?
I am so glad that you spent the time in the garden..knowing how much your mum loved it. Hope the faeries were keeping you company.. and I hope you left them a little something :)
lots of love to you sweetP xoxo

Laughed about your Dad putting your birthday card into a safe place ... and how did you manage to get out of the animal shelter without filling your pockets with the little fluff balls Smile *!*
